Christian “Hope” ministry was opened on October,10th, 1993 in the building of the maternity clinic in Pushkin (the suburb of Saint-Petersburg). Location in the state medical institution made our experience unique not only for Russia, but for other countries as well, where such practice is impossible. For many years we had an opportunity to tell the women, coming to make a pregnancy test, all the truth about abortion and its consequences, to see “another” way of solving their problem. |
Time showed that the ministry should expand the range of provided services, to include marriage & family counseling, children & parents relationship, etc.
In the year 2006 “Hope” moved from Pushkin to Saint-Petersburg, where, with the blessing of the Bishop Aarre Kuukauppi, it officially became the ministry of Evangelical-Lutheran Church of Ingria. In the year 2013 the ministry celebrated its 20th anniversary.
Thanks to the support of LCMS World Relief & Human Care we are able to maintain two projects: 1) a computer class, where everyone can get computer skills together with learning the fundamentals of Christian faith; and 2) single mothers’ support.
